BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Bond for 34-year-old Monteko Brown has been denied by a Calhoun County District Court judge.
Brown was charged yesterday with open murder in the death of a man whose body was found in Battle Creek.
Marshall police began investigating a missing person report and Battle Creek police and the Calhoun County Major Crimes Task Force started looking into the case Thursday.
Brown was arrested in possession of the victim’s van and directed police to the victim’s body in a wooded area near Elm Street.
He will be back in court next Wednesday.
