GUN PLAIN TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Monday morning single vehicle crash has claimed the life of one person in Allegan County’s Gun Plain Township.
Just before 7:30 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the crash at 4th Street and Pierce Road. They found a minivan had left the roadway and went into the woods. The driver was deceased and there were no other occupants in the vehicle.
The preliminary investigation by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office shows the minivan was driving eastbound on 106th Avenue and failed to negotiate the curve as the roadway turns into Pierce Road. The vehicle left the roadway, crashing into a large tree in a wooded area.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and information on the driver is being withheld pending family notifications.
