KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Public Schools officials are already gearing up for the summer.
Graduation ceremonies for the district’s five high schools will begin soon, and there are just two weeks left before summer vacation begins.
Superintendent Darrin Slade says its one of his favorite times of the year.
Both the Loy Norrix and Kalamazoo Central ceremonies will be held at Wings Event Center.
Phoenix graduates will matriculate next Friday and KILP and adult education graduates will receive their diplomas on June 3rd and the 8th, all at Chenery Auditorium.
Dr. Slade says a few days later on the 12th they will shift the focus from seniors to future kindergartners with an enrollment session on June 12th at the Career Connect Center on Sprinkle Road.
That will be the first of several enrollment sessions held this summer.
Summer school will begin July 6th and run through the end of that month.
KPS trustees held their last meeting before graduation season last night.
