GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Acrisure Amphitheatre has been exempted from the city of Grand Rapids’ noise ordinance by the city commission.
The vote last night followed months of complaints from residents about being able to hear the concerts from miles away.
The venue will be exempt from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. under its special land use permit.
Mayor David LaGrand said the amended ordinance was done to be consistent with the original plan for the concert venue and, “we’ll have to have ongoing discussion about” the noise issue.
