STERLING HEIGHTS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan House Speaker Matt Hall is proposing banning hospitals from using artificial intelligence for pricing.
The Richland Republican also wants to prevent health insurance companies from using AI to deny patient claims.
Hall says hospitals should not use the technology to calculate the maximum price for services.
He added his office is hearing from small businesses that costs continue to rise and says it’s “really tough because there are so many special interests in healthcare, and they all point the finger at each other.”
Hall says “everyone is going to have to give a little bit.”
