Group is giving away downtown flowers, preparing for downtown Kalamazoo fall festivals

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – As summer comes to an end, Kalamazoo in Bloom, the nonprofit organization that plants and maintains the flower beds in Bronson Park and at City Hall, is preparing the gardens for fall.

Monday, September 28, the group is inviting the public to join them to “Make a Fall Planter.” Participants will have the opportunity to dig up select annuals and take them home for free.

Kalamazoo in Bloom is also looking for volunteers to help at “Plant Pull” events to remove the remaining plants from the flower beds Tuesday, September 29, through Thursday, October 1.
