KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Nine new builds, two remodels and four virtual homes around the Kalamazoo County area will be showcased during the Home Builders Association of Western Michigan’s 36th Annual Parade of Homes that opens today.
The in-person Parade runs Thursday, July 30 through Saturday, August 1, and then again Thursday, August 6 through Saturday, August 8, with homes open to the public for just six days this year.
The Home Builders Association says this year’s Parade “showcases many of today’s most sought-after home trends, including smart home technology, one-of-a-kind kitchens, spa-inspired baths, inviting living spaces, outdoor entertaining areas, mudrooms, innovative storage solutions and landscaping ideas.”
Homes range from approximately 1,400 to more than 5,200 square feet, from ranches and two-story homes to condominiums and lakefront properties. Highlights include a Scandinavian-inspired lake home and another featuring 19-foot vaulted ceilings and oversized 8-foot doors.
The free ‘Western MI Parade of Homes’ app will allow you to plan your visit with interactive maps, home details, virtual tours and advance ticket purchasing.
Advance tickets are $8 through the app or at HBAParadeofHomes.org. Tickets are also available at each in-person Parade home for $10 by cash or credit card. Event hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 1:00-7:00 p.m.
