PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Portage city council is expected to meet in closed session Tuesday night to begin weeding out the list of applicants to fill their vacancy at city manager.
The council has adopted an accelerated timetable to try and get a new chief executive in place by early this fall.
Applicants at this stage usually request anonymity, preferring not to have their current employers know that they are shopping around for new jobs.
The council will huddle with their consultant after the regular meeting to get their first look at who is interested in the job.
