No contact order issued for Kalamazoo creek after 10,000 gallon wastewater overflow

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A no contact order has been issued for Davis Creek in Kalamazoo between Miller Road and the Kalamazoo River.

The order was issued after around 10,000 gallons of wastewater overflowed into the creek and onto Emerald Drive near Miller Road shortly before 2 p.m. Monday.

The overflow was due to a broken pipe that was clogged by rags.

Emerald Drive is also closed at Miller Road during the cleanup.
