THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Employees of American Axle & Manufacturing in Three Rivers say they are preparing to go on strike at midnight Sunday.
Contract talks between American Axle and the UAW have not resulted in an offer of fair pay according to the UAW.
Workers took a massive pay cut in 2008 during the Great Recession to prevent the plant from closing, going from earning $29 an hour to $14.50.
The union says subsequent pay raises have not made up the 50% pay cut.
