NZ’s a2 Milk recalls US infant milk formula batches over cereulide presence

May 4 (Reuters) – New Zealand’s a2 Milk said ​on Monday ‌it has commenced a recall of three batches of ‌its ​a2 ⁠Platinum infant milk ⁠formula sold in the United States after testing ​detected cereulide, a toxin that ⁠can ⁠cause vomiting.

The affected ​product was manufactured ​by a2’s associate company, ‌Synlait Milk, according to a statement from ⁠Synlait. a2 Milk said no illnesses had ⁠been ‌reported, and ⁠it is ​consulting ‌with the U.S. ​Food ⁠and Drug Administration.
