OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office deputies say a call they received about a man who appeared to be “emotional” and sitting next to a handgun in the Menards bathroom on West Main Street was a misunderstanding.
They responded to the call around 6 p.m. Sunday and Menards had been evacuated before they arrived.
The man was found at the Meijer gas station next door and was detained.
Deputies say he was not emotional and had “no suicidal or homicidal ideations,” and add there was no threat to the public.
The man was released with no issues.
