KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Comerica Park will have a new name now that that bank has been gobbled up by another bank.
A lot of sports facilities have names that go to whoever is willing to pay for it, and it appears Kalamazoo’s future youth sports facility is going to go that route, too.
Jane Ghosh informed Kalamazoo County commissioners last week that they already have a memorandum of understanding with a naming-rights partner for the facility, now being built on Kalamazoo’s far west side.
Ghosh says that the name of the community will also be included, because its good branding.
They are also looking for some appropriate operation to become a tenant in the facility.
They hope to have the large indoor sports facility open and operational by this time next year.
