PAW PAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – People who were cleaning out the basement in their grandfather’s house in Paw Paw Township found a grenade from 1945 just after noon on Saturday.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office was called, and they called the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Bomb Squad to respond.
They used X-ray equipment to determine the grenade had been decommissioned.
The grandfather’s relatives told deputies he had obtained the grenade 81-years ago.
