KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Two 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy are recovering after the three were stabbed early Sunday morning in the 1400 block of Fraternity Village Drive.
Kalamazoo Public Safety responded just after 2 a.m. to the reported stabbing and arrested one suspect at the scene.
Two victims were at the scene, and a third had already arrived at a hospital by the time authorities got to the scene. All three suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.
The 21-year-old suspect allegedly used a box cutter to stab the three, and it was recovered at the scene by officers.
He remains in the Kalamazoo County Jail and officers are trying to identify two other people who were allegedly involved.
The stabbings followed a physical altercation between two groups that escalated.
Officers say several people were in the area at the time of the stabbing and believe some of them may have recorded video of the incident. KDPS is asking anyone who captured video of the incident to contact investigators. These recordings may provide valuable evidence as the investigation continues.
