KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is coming to southwest Michigan on Wednesday, October 14, to campaign with state Senator Sean McCann, the Democratic nominee for Michigan’s 4th Congressional District.
The rally will be from 2 to 3 p.m. in Kalamazoo, and the location won’t be specified until Monday afternoon.
Buttigieg previously served as mayor of South Bend, Indiana before becoming U.S. Transportation Secretary under former President Joe Biden, and lives in Traverse City.
He will make the case for sending McCann to Congress and rally voters to turn out in November.
McCann’s campaign says the event will bring together voters, volunteers, and supporters as they work to mobilize voters across Michigan’s 4th District.
U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana campaigned for incumbent Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga Wednesday in Grand Rapids as Huizenga seeks a ninth term.
