EPA Chief to Stop in Allegan as Part of Weekend Tour in Michigan

ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 25, 2026) – The nation’s top environmental official is headed to Michigan this weekend.

The first stop on Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin’s tour is in the Trowbridge Dam area southeast of Allegan. The long-term effort to remove toxins from the Kalamazoo River there has resulted in more than 300,000 cubic yards of contaminated sentiment, with over 650 million gallons of water on site tested and treated to ensure standards were met before being discharged into the river.

Zeldin will be accompanied on this mid-Friday afternoon stop by eight-term Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga of Holland.

Zeldin will be with GOP congressman Tom Barrett for Saturday events in Lansing, and has a Sunday appearance in suburban Detroit planned.
