KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Early voting has begun in next month’s primary election, and if you voted for a candidate who has subsequently dropped out of the race, a do-over is possible.
Kalamazoo City Deputy Clerk Shelby Moss says voters have until July 24th to notify your local clerk that you want to spoil your mailed ballot, and they will cancel it out and give you another.
“Voters still have their ballots they can come to our office and spoil that ballot if they need to and contact our office for the best option for them,” she says.
Moss says it’s not to late to ask for an absentee ballot.
“They can contact our office by e-mail we can still take applications through the mail.”
Democratic state Senator Mallory McMorrow suspended her U.S. Senate campaign last week, leaving a two-person primary contest between Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed.
