KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The mobile nuisance parties known as the X-train have returned in Kalamazoo.
The owner of the Shell gas station downtown at the intersection of West Michigan Avenue and Westnedge Avenue says 400 to 500 people were in the area this past weekend with about 150 vehicles.
He says the X-train has been a problem since the 1990s despite efforts by the Kalamazoo Public Safety Department and the city of Kalamazoo to crack down on them.
He adds Friday and Saturday nights in the summer follow the pattern of the X-train starting around 9 p.m., peaking around 1 to 2 a.m., and dispersing around 4 a.m.
