KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One man was injured and the suspect remains at large in a shooting incident Sunday afternoon in Kalamazoo.
Around 2:00 p.m. officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to a business in the 1100 block of Douglas Avenue for reports of a fight and shots fired. While enroute, officers learned that a gunshot victim was being transported by private vehicle to a local hospital.
At the hospital, officers contacted a 32-year-old man who had sustained two gunshot wounds to the arm. He was treated for his injuries and is listed in stable condition.
As part of the investigation, the Kalamazoo Metro Special Weapons and Tactics Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of Douglas Avenue in an effort to locate the suspect and gather additional evidence, but the suspect was not located.
The case will be submitted to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office for review and possible charges.
